Soup Spoons & Carbon Forks' May Ride

Pizzavino 707 LogoSoup Spoons and Carbon Forks will be riding again on Saturday, May 15th so mark your calendar and get ready. The temperatures have warmed and the skies are blue so come on out and join a great group of riders for a spirited ride with a price fixed feast at Pizzavino 707 to follow.

Soup Spoons and Carbon Forks LogoAs Pizzavino 707 is located in Sebastopol we will be able to start from the shop which will open at 8:30AM. Come on over and put air in your tires(something that is often overlooked due to lack of time), see the finished remodel and chat with Steve and the gang. The Appetizer and Entree Courses will leave the shop at 9:15AM or so, the Dessert Course will depart the shop at 10:15AM or so.

Our Lunch Locale First

Pizzavino 707, one of the sponsors of Team Revolution will be putting together a menu especially for us. The price per person is $XX and there will also be a children's special. If you have not been there already, you are in for a treat! Their wood burning pizza oven and grill put out some of the best food along with focusing on locally grown and sustainably farmed meats and seafood. Make sure to invite your non-cycling spouse and/or significant other and the rest of the family as these meals are for gathering at the table and enjoying.

Now for the Routes

The Appetizer Course will take in Westside Road and climb Sweetwater Springs to return on May's Canyon, Green Valley and ultimately back to Pizzavino 707 for some well earned food and drink. Love this route! It clocks in at 45.5. miles with 3,000 feet of climb and should offer some beautiful vistas but hey, this group usually is not interested in vistas as they just want fast.

The Entree Course will follow the same route out as the Appetizer course but after crossing Wohler Bridge will turn left onto Westside Road and then on to River Road. We will have a regroup at the coffee shop on Armstrong Woods Road so we can fill up water bottles and take in a hit of caffeine if desired. Back in the saddle we double back on 116 and head out May's Canyon, Green Valley and onward to lunch. I am sure the Appetizer Course will try and catch us but we will see. The route clocks in at 38 miles and 1,500 feet of climb.

The Dessert Course will take in the bike path to Forestville, double back and maybe stop in Graton for coffee and/or head on over to Ragle Ranch Park depending on the make up of the group. Don't forget, this route does not leave the shop until 10:15AM or so and will be between 15 to 20 miles all fairly flat.
